Four ways to grow your business on social media
Help your business attract new customers and increase sales by putting into practice these four tips.
1. Engage with your audience
Social media is a place to be a social, so set aside 10-20 minutes each day to reply and like comments, engage with other related accounts, and stay on top of your DMs. Focus first on building a community and connection with your followers, rather than going straight in with the sale. Think of it this way; no one accepts a proposal on a first date.
2. Clearly explain what you do and offer
Instead of having your company name as your Instagram account name, use keywords related to your business so that your account is easily searchable. Outline in your Instagram bio your business’ services or products, how you can help customers, and include a link to your website and contact details.
3. Share a mix of helpful and promotional posts
Find a balance that works for your business. For some businesses, it’s a split of 60% helpful or solutions focussed posts to 40% sales posts, while other companies prefer a 75% to 25% split. Don’t be afraid to experiment until you find the right fit for your business.
4. Run targeted social media ad campaigns
Social media ad campaigns are a great way to help your business reach a new audience of customers, as well as remind loyal customers about what makes your business unique and product or services special. There are a variety of options available from brand awareness ads, to engagement or conversion campaigns.
