Three ways to turn around an unproductive day

  1. Write a list of everything you need to accomplish today and prioritise three things to focus on first. Start with the most straightforward item on the list so you can feel a sense of accomplishment once it’s complete. Once you’ve ticked off the three things on your list, then select three more to-do’s to complete.

  2. Step away from your desk or computer and head outside for a walk, short workout or to a local cafe to grab a hot drink. A change of scenery can help turn around an unproductive day and have you feeling energised when you return to your desk.

  3. Set up your workspace for success. Clear the clutter and shift unneeded items like the three coffee mugs you used earlier in the week and stacks of paper off your desk. Select a relaxing or upbeat playlist and limit distractions by turning your phone onto do not disturb mode. Lastly, make sure your chair is comfortable and positioned at the correct height before you start work.
